Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking Semiconductor Process Technicians for our Palm Bay, FL location. As a Semiconductor Process Technician C in the Microelectronics Division, you will support a variety of semiconductor processing steps, assist Process Engineering with experiments for development work, identify quality and cycle time improvements, and provide training to new hires. You will have regular interactions with other process technicians, operations management, and a variety of engineering teams for the purpose of coordinating work and communicating any non-conformances.

Essential Functions:

1. Qualify, setup, and operate semiconductor process equipment using written work instructions
2. Perform process verification metrology or inspection steps for each process step performed
3. Enter statistical process control (SPC) data into the Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
4. Perform documented out of control action plans (OCAPs) for processes failing SPC limits
5. Identify process and/or equipment issues and escalate to the appropriate issue owner
6. Document and escalate quality and procedural non-conformances to the appropriate issue owner
7. Perform calculations to determine process conditions
8. Create test wafers, perform documented process qualification tests, and qualify equipment according to schedules
9. Perform design of experiment (DOEs) tests defined by Process Engineering counterparts
10. Identify process improvement ideas and work with Process Engineering to test and implement them
11. Perform on-the-job training for incoming new hires as the team grows
12. Maintain a safe and organized work environment

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
2. 2+ years’ experience in semiconductor wafer manufacturing operations
3. Ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
4. Ability to transition to a compressed work week schedule:

• Compressed Shift 1A (Sun, Mon, Tue e/o Wed 5:45am – 5:45pm)
• Compressed Shift 1B (Thu, Fri, Sat e/o Wed 5:45am – 5:45pm)

Previous experience in one or more of the following areas: lithography, wet etch, dry etch, PVD, PECVD, CMP, metrology, etc.

Preferred Additional Skills:

1. Security Clearance required for role: Top Secret / SCI w/Poly
2. 4+ years’ experience in semiconductor wafer manufacturing operations
3. Active TS/SCI w/ Poly
4. Lean Six Sigma Certification
5. Experience working in classified government programs
6. Previous experience working in a Class 100 cleanroom
7. Previous experience using commercial Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
8. Previous experience with SPC and performing OCAPs
9. Strong sense of responsibility, ownership, and follow-through
10. Must be a team player, pro-active, and customer-oriented with a sense of urgency to accomplish a given task or goal
