Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking a Process Engineer for emerging semiconductor display and manufacturing technologies in Santa Clara, CA. You will collect data, analyze results, perform hardware characterization, and troubleshoot issues while collaborating with customers and vendors to drive improvements.

You will measure film properties, generate technical documentation, and contribute to state-of-the-art research with R&D teams.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to start full-time between October 2026 and January 2027.
• Experience in semiconductor fab or equipment industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect data, analyze results, and compile experimental reports.
• Perform hardware characterization on basic systems.
• Troubleshoot problems and perform root cause analysis.
• Measure film properties and document findings.
• Generate internal technical reports and presentations.
• Engage with customers to address concerns under supervision.
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers on new technologies.
• Assist in implementing new technologies and products.
