Job summary

KLA is seeking a PhD candidate to advance Film metrology products. You will engage in developing and supporting metrology tools, applying deep technical knowledge to resolve complex problems, and communicating findings clearly to product teams and customers.

The role emphasizes collaboration across engineering, R&D, and customer-facing teams, with opportunities to influence next-generation measurement technologies at scale.

Qualifications

• PhD candidate with a background in Experimental Physics or Engineering (electrical, mechanical, optical, etc.)
• Understanding of optical, electrical, mechanical and software systems and their interactions in the context of complex industrial equipment is a plus.
• Enthusiastic communicator to provide detailed guidance to colleagues to solve problems, and technical summaries for internal functional teams and management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-impact work across your area of expertise.
• Develop deep understanding of customer applications; create problem statements, data plans, analyze data and prescribe actions.
• Strong communication skills: oral, written, and producing reports and summaries.
