Job summary

IT America Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Semiconductor Manufacturing Technical Trainer to develop and deliver hands-on training for engineers and technicians in a fab environment.

This role focuses on safety, process fundamentals, and equipment operation to enable rapid onboarding and ongoing competency. You will create training plans, assessments, and qualification records, and collaborate with engineering, equipment, manufacturing, and EHS teams to keep content current as processes and tools

Qualifications

• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or closely related high-tech manufacturing.
• Experience training, mentoring, or qualifying technical employees.
• Working knowledge of cleanroom practices, fab safety, equipment, and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver classroom, hands-on, and on-the-job training for technicians and engineers.
• Train employees on fab safety, cleanroom protocols, equipment operation, process fundamentals, and troubleshooting.
• Partner with engineering, equipment, manufacturing, and EHS teams to identify skill gaps and maintain training materials.
• Create training plans, practical assessments, and qualification records for new hires and existing employees.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and update courses based on learner feedback, performance data, and process changes.
• Support career pathways that help employees progress into technician and engineering roles.

Job summary

This person will help new hires build the skills needed to work safely and effectively in a fab and support ongoing training as processes and equipment change.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver classroom, hands-on, and on-the-job training for manufacturing technicians and engineers.
• Train employees on fab safety, cleanroom protocols, equipment operation, process fundamentals, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Partner with engineering, equipment, manufacturing, and EHS teams to identify skill gaps and maintain accurate training materials.
• Create training plans, practical assessments, and qualification records for new hires and existing employees.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and update courses based on learner feedback, performance data, and process changes.
• Support career pathways that help employees progress into technician and engineering roles.

Required qualifications

• Experience working in semiconductor manufacturing or a closely related high-tech manufacturing environment.
• Experience training, mentoring, or qualifying technical employees.
• Working knowledge of cleanroom practices, fab safety, manufacturing equipment, and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to learners with different levels of experience.
• Strong documentation, presentation, and cross-functional communication skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience developing technical training curricula or hands-on assessments.
• Familiarity with semiconductor process areas such as lithography, etch, deposition, diffusion, metrology, or test.
• Experience with learning management systems and employee qualification tracking.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, manufacturing, education, or a related field.
