Job summary

Tower Semiconductor Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Semiconductor Maintenance Supervisor to lead our high-tech equipment maintenance team in a fast-paced fab environment.

You will oversee a large team of technicians responsible for preventive maintenance, calibration, and emergency repair of advanced manufacturing tools, aiming to maximize tool uptime and maintain strict cleanroom protocols. The role emphasizes safety, training, and continuous improvement, with responsibilities including

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or management preferred; exceptions considered for relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on equipment maintenance in a semiconductor fab, with at least 2 years in a lead/supervisory role.
  • Deep understanding of semiconductor process tools (e.g., Lithography, Etch, CVD/PVD, Ion Implantation, CMP) and their subsystems.
  • Ability to work extended hours in a cleanroom environment while wearing a bunny suit and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work compressed weeks, rotating shifts, nights, or weekends per 24/7 fab production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a multi-disciplinary team of 25+ electrical and mechanical technicians and PM specialists across all fab toolsets.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize production bottlenecks; prioritize daily PM schedules.
  • Enforce Lockout/Tagout, PPE, OSHA standards, and hazardous material handling; potential to lead on-shift ERT.
  • Manage recruiting/interviewing and partner with engineering to assess candidate qualifications.
  • Develop and manage complex technical training plans and certification metrics for the shift.
  • Utilize CMMS to track work orders, monitor MTBF, and summarize shift performance.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Semiconductor Maintenance Supervisor to lead our high-tech equipment maintenance team on [shift]. In this role, you will oversee a team of technicians responsible for the preventative maintenance, calibration, and emergency repair of advanced manufacturing tools within our semiconductor fabrication facility (fab). Your primary focus will be maximizing tool uptime, optimizing hardware reliability, and championing a strict culture of safety and cleanroom protocol throughout your shift.

This Job Is For You If
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, schedule, and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of 25+ electrical & mechanical technicians and PM specialists across all toolsets in the fab
  • Maintenance Management: Coordinate and prioritize daily preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and corrective maintenance actions to minimize production bottlenecks; manage up to 25 direct reports
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) mandates, OSHA standards, and hazardous material handling; potential to lead the ERT team on shift
  • Hiring and Staffing: Manage recruiting and interviewing, and partner with equipment engineering to assess the technical qualifications of candidates on your shift
  • Training: Manage complex technical training plans for the team and own the certification process and training metrics on your shift
    Data, Metrics, and Reporting: Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, monitor Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and document tool history; summarize shift performance in a clear passdown
  • Parts Logistics: Manage the staging of critical spare parts, track inventory levels, and ensure parts are returned for repair or restocking
  • Continuous Improvement: Partner with Equipment Engineering to identify recurring tool failures and develop permanent hardware modifications or procedural updates
Job Requirements

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or management preferred, exceptions considered for applicants with previous experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on equipment maintenance experience in a semiconductor fab, with at least 2 years in a senior, lead, or supervisory role.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of semiconductor process tools (e.g., Lithography, Etch, CVD/PVD, Ion Implantation, or CMP) and their associated sub-systems.
  • Cleanroom Readiness: Ability to work extended hours in a full cleanroom suit ("bunny suit"), including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work compressed work weeks, rotating shifts, nights, or weekends as dictated by 24/7 fab production schedules.
