Job description

Overview

OSI Optoelectronics (OSIO) is a diversified manufacturer of standard and custom photodiodes and optical sensors used in aerospace, defense, commercial, and medical applications. OSIO seeks a Semiconductor Fabrication Operator to perform wafer‑level manufacturing processes for optoelectronic devices, including wet etch, evaporation, and diffusion.

Responsibilities
  • Handle wafers and operate equipment such as wafer scribers, diffusion furnaces, wet and dry etchers, and disco saws, ensuring minimal contamination and adherence to process specifications and cleanroom protocols.
  • Maintain and update lot traveler records, process logs, and data sheets for all lots in progress, ensuring traceability and quality compliance.
  • Identify equipment malfunctions, process deviations, or product non‑conformities; notify supervisors and collaborate with engineering or maintenance teams to resolve issues.

  • Report quality problems or defects to management to facilitate corrective action and prevent recurrence.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in semiconductor or wafer fabrication manufacturing.
  • Excellent hand‑eye coordination and dexterity.
  • Ability to use small hand tools (e.g., tweezers) and a microscope while handling and packaging parts.
  • Knowledge of diagrams and basic manufacturing documentation (e.g., part numbers, BOMs, drawings).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to speak with employees, guests, vendors, and team members at all levels.
  • High attention to detail and ability to perform highly repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to collect data and keep accurate records consistently.
  • Capable of working with and around chemicals, including acids, following company procedures.
  • Team player.
  • Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
Pay and Benefits

Pay may range from $23.00 to $25.00 hourly.

Base salary is one component of total compensation. Additional benefits may include long‑term incentives, discretionary bonuses, and an Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP). Employees are eligible for comprehensive benefits such as health plans, a 401(k) retirement plan, health savings account, disability insurance, life and ADÄD insurance, leave of absence programs, and voluntary benefits. Paid time off is provided for vacation, holidays, bereavement, and jury duty. Flexible time‑off is available to full‑time salaried employees.
