Job summary

NXP Semiconductors NV in Chandler, AZ is seeking a maintenance technician to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in the Chandler Fab Cleans/EPI equipment area. You will troubleshoot electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems and execute preventive maintenance on a variety of semiconductor toolsets.

The role requires adherence to safety protocols for hazardous chemicals, ability to stand for long periods, and capability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• AA, AS, or AAS in electronics or mechanical discipline preferred.
• Solid understanding of SPC, 5S, FDC systems and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Willingness to work compressed shift with day shifts available.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Chandler Fab Cleans/EPI equipment area tools.
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems; perform consumable changes and maintenance tasks.
• Interface with internal and external groups to meet safety, performance and reliability requirements.
• Follow safety protocols around hazardous chemicals and document activities as required.

The candidate(s) selected will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in Chandler Fab Cleans/EPI equipment area.

The technician position is responsible for effectively executing tasks that are required to maintain primarily the toolsets within the following tool groups:

• Cleans
• Semitool: SST-C-421-280; WSST 408A; SAT 2080S; STORM II; RCMS; Raider/Millennium (Millennial)
• TEL/FSI: Mercury MP (2nd generation); Zeta
• DNS: WS820-L
• Akrion: SCP 9400; GAMA
• Dainippon Screen: SS-80BW-AR
• Screen DNS: WS-802L; SS-80EX; SS-80BW-AR
• EPI
• ASM EPSILON E-2000 Reduced Pressure Single Wafer Epitaxial Reactors
• Helium & Hydrogen leak checkers
• Exhaust abatement: ATLAS, AirGard, EcoGuard
• Bio-rad FTIR
• ThermoFlex 5000 TCS Chiller
• Vacuum bag sealer
• Operation of associated metrology equipment

The tasks include, but are not limited to, troubleshooting and repair of electrical and electronic systems, pneumatic and mechanical systems, scheduled maintenance, consumable changes, and various other activities relevant to the success of the area. The desired candidate should have a solid understanding of SPC, 5s, FDC systems and demonstrate problem-solving skills. The position requires the ability to interface with other internal and external groups to ensure all safety, performance, and reliability requirements are satisfied. The candidate will be required to understand and follow all safety protocols when working around hazardous chemicals. The desired candidate may be required to complete documentation and train others.

The desired candidate will be required to effectively communicate using written and verbal skills, stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours), and be physically able to perform required tasks which may include stooping, crawling in confined spaces, and lift/carry objects up to 50 pounds

The position requires working a compressed shift with days shifts available

Key Challenges:

• Able to diagnose equipment alarms, read operational data and create action plans as needed.
• Able to work in a high-volume manufacturing environment and sustain equipment with minimal direction.
• Able to use root-cause problem-solving techniques to solve complex problems on Semiconductor toolsets.

Education:

AA, AS, AAS, in electronics or other mechanical discipline is preferred. Education along with experience or military training may satisfy formal education requirements
