fab2 in Austin, TX is seeking an Equipment Engineer to design, maintain, and improve semiconductor equipment. You will work with hardware and process engineers to maximize tool uptime and reliability.

The role requires a BS with 3+ years in wafer fab environments, experience with vacuum systems, and proficiency in data analysis, SPC, and tool maintenance. fab2 offers equity and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of applicable experience.
• Strong understanding of wafer fabrication processes (etch, deposition, lithography, metrology, etc.).
• Comfortable with Onshape, SolidWorks, or similar software.
• Familiarity with equipment control systems vacuum systems, robotics, and cleanroom protocols.
• Proficiency in data analysis, SPC, and root cause methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Generate accurate and detailed SOPs, technical reports, corrective and preventive maintenance plans, and other critical documentation.
• Respond to tool maintenance calls and lead efforts to bring tools up efficiently and effectively.
• Collaborate with engineering or cross functional groups to investigate and resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize downtime.
• Establish, review regularly, and respond to SPC alerts for equipment parameters; drive yield improvement through design and engineering improvements.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement programs to improve equipment performance and reliability; maximize MTBF.
• Define and review minimum and maximum spares quantities to ensure inventories support maintenance and repair.
