Job summary

Acara Solutions, Inc. in San Jose, CA seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design semiconductor equipment, create 3D models, and develop manufacturing drawings using Inventor or SolidWorks.

You will validate designs, perform tolerance analyses, and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement and suppliers. The role requires 8+ years in mechanical design, 3+ years with SolidWorks/Inventor, and a background in DFMs/DFAs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience designing semiconductor equipment.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; candidate without degree may be considered with relevant experience.
• Minimum 8 years of mechanical design engineering experience.
• Minimum 3 years of SolidWorks and/or Inventor experience with 3D CAD modeling and drawings.
• Working knowledge of engineering drawings, materials, manufacturing processes, DFM and DFA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design components, assemblies, and systems per project requirements.
• Create and maintain detailed drawings and documentation using CAD software (Inventor, SolidWorks).
• Reverse engineer existing components to create accurate 3D models and docs.
• Perform design, tolerance, stress/thermal/structural analyses as required.
• Ensure GD&T and manufacturable drawings for production.
