Job summary

Synagro is seeking a skilled Semi-Truck & Trailer Maintenance Technician to perform inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and troubleshooting of commercial trucks, trailers, and related equipment.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with diesel-powered equipment, and a commitment to safety, quality, and minimizing equipment downtime. CDL preferred and ability to lift up to 75 pounds in a shop environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 2 years of experience maintaining and repairing semi-trucks and trailers.
Knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical systems, and trailer components.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair procedures.
Welding and fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance services on semi-trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and suspension system issues.
Inspect and replace trailer components including landing gear, lighting systems, and air systems.
Troubleshoot ABS brake systems and air brake components.
Complete tire inspections, repairs, replacements, and wheel-end maintenance.
Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
Document inspection findings and repair recommendations.
