Selling Branch Manager - Rochelle Park, NJ Branch (in office)

About this role

The Branch Manager is responsible for building and executing business plans to attract new clients, strengthen existing relationships, and grow the branch’s profitability. This includes managing market sales plans, recruitment strategies, branch budgets, Profit & Loss (P&L), and controlling costs. The role also involves recruiting, training, managing, and developing the branch team, as well as delivering excellent customer service to candidates and clients.

Key Responsibilities

Growing & Retaining Accounts:

  • Develop plans to grow and retain existing accounts and acquire new clients, including re-engaging lapsed accounts.
  • Ensure client requirements (operational and contractual) are met within SLA targets.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction through regular communication and business reviews with clients and internal teams.
  • Serve as an escalation point for client issues involving procurement, operations, and HR managers.
  • Gather client feedback on service perception and identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with sales and management to understand client needs and expectations.
  • Focus on client retention while maximizing fill rate, reducing time-to-fill, and maintaining high NPS scores.
  • Present monthly/quarterly business reviews to senior management.
  • Stay informed about economic trends affecting target industries and local businesses.
  • Set and monitor pay and bill rates based on skill categories.
  • Act on candidate and associate feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Onboard new clients, including negotiations, credit assessment, and setting terms.
  • Obtain credit references and establish credit limits per guidelines.

Management:

  • Oversee daily performance of staff, including coaching, training, and development to meet service levels and KPIs.
  • Review and improve processes to reduce service costs and enhance efficiency.
  • Manage branch P&L, exercise cost control, and develop revenue and expense forecasts.
  • Monitor workers’ compensation and unemployment claims to minimize expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing and notices.
  • Manage collections for outstanding receivables.
  • Conduct regular meetings with team members to review performance and goals.
  • Perform branch audits for compliance and accuracy.
  • Create a positive work environment as reflected in employee engagement scores.
  • Manage contract renewals in the proper system.
  • Develop recruitment strategies, including digital presence and local partnerships.
  • Participate in recruiting activities as needed.
Job Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent plus 5+ years relevant experience. Proven sales track record, preferably within personnel services. At least 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience in a sales or service environment.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Self-directed with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of labor and employment laws.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
