Job summary

Hamtramck Public Schools seeks a dedicated educator to implement a full educational teaching plan aligned with district requirements. The role reports to School Administrator(s) and focuses on delivering engaging, standards-based instruction.

Qualifications include a valid Michigan teaching certificate and a bachelor's degree. Preference for a credential in Mathematics, Science, ELA, or Social Studies, with experience in inclusive settings and data-informed instruction.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Delivers Michigan Academic Standards (MAS) as identified by the State of Michigan and the District to help students meet or exceed standards.
• Develops and administers elementary school curriculum according to Hamtramck Public Schools' goals and objectives.
• Fosters a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small-group instruction and student learning.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and incorporates them into learning experiences.
• Clearly communicates content and language objectives to students.
• Uses SIOP strategies reflecting understanding of diverse learning styles and needs.
• Employs a variety of research-based instructional strategies and instructional media aligned with student needs and capabilities.
• Differentiates instruction and collaborates in inclusive settings.
• Steers individual and small-group instruction as needed.
• Conducts appropriate assessments and maintains accurate data on attendance, grades, MTSS, ELD and IEP progress.
• Administers standardized/local tests in line with Hamtramck Public Schools and MDE programs.
• Organizes and maintains a system for accurate record-keeping, grading, and reporting.
• Encourages parental involvement in students' education and maintains communication with families.
• Facilitates Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports.
• Participates in professional development and PLCs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
