Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Selenium, Playwright, and UFT, and to build scalable automation solutions for web and API testing.

You will develop scripts in Java and Python, integrate with CI/CD (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), and contribute to Agile ceremonies, test strategies, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong automation testing experience with web and API testing.
• Experience in design and development of test automation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Selenium, Playwright, and UFT.
• Develop automation scripts using Java and/or Python.
• Create and execute functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end test suites.
• Build scalable, reusable, and maintainable automation frameworks from scratch.
• Automate web, API, and database validation test scenarios.
• Develop and maintain Playwright-based automation solutions for modern web applications.
• Create and execute UFT scripts for legacy and enterprise applications.
• Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Develop data-driven, keyword-driven, and hybrid automation frameworks.
• Perform API testing using REST/SOAP services and automation tools.
• Analyze business requirements and create automation test strategies, plans, and test cases.
• Conduct root cause analysis of test failures and work closely with development teams.
• Execute automation suites and publish test execution reports and metrics.
• Implement cross-browser and cross-platform automation testing.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Validate UI, backend, APIs, and database integrations.
• Manage defects using Jira, ALM, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Optimize automation coverage and reduce manual testing efforts.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and promote automation best practices.
• Continuously evaluate new testing tools, AI-assisted testing techniques, and automation improvements.
