Job summary

Performance Food Group in Port Saint Lucie, FL is seeking a Warehouse Selector to efficiently move products between loading docks and warehouse aisles while maintaining quality standards. You will use pallet jacks, forklifts, and other equipment to fulfill customer orders in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include safety checks, PPE usage, following order sheets, transporting palletized orders, and completing paperwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.
• 6–12 months of warehouse and/or distribution work experience.
• Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift.
• Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products from shelves and replenish products weighing 10–35 pounds, up to 60–90 pounds depending on location.
• Able to work in multi-temperature environments (cooler, freezer, dry).
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Reviews work schedule, obtains supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations.
• Performs safety check on pallet jack / forklift and ensure safety devices are functioning.
• Puts on all required PPE and Safety Gear.
• Places pallets on pallet jack and operates along assigned multi-level racks to locate products according to order sheets.
• Manually places stock items on pallet from pick slots and racks as required.
• Transports completed palletized customer orders to shipping dock staging area; may shrink-wrap pallets for staging.
• Removes batteries needing recharging and replaces with charged batteries, or attaches re-charger and completes vehicle inspection checklist.
• At shift end, secures all equipment and completes necessary paperwork.
• Meets productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.
• Follows all safety policies and workflows; report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Warehouse associates are the foundation to our company's success. They work actively, safely, and independently to maintain the efficient flow of products through our distribution process, while ensuring quality standards. As a Selector, you will select and move product between the loading dock and the warehouse and within the warehouse. You may also utilize company provided equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, tuggers, carts, etc.

The Selector selects cases and other containers of food and non-foods products to fill customer orders from multi-level rack warehouse storage systems. Items are placed on pallets and completed orders are moved to the loading dock staging area with an electric pallet jack / forklift, wrapped, labeled, and readied for shipment in a timely manner.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to

• Reviews work schedule, obtains supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations.
• Performs safety check on pallet jack / forklift to be used and ensure that all other safety devices are functioning properly.
• Puts on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.
• Places pallets on pallet jack and operates along assigned multi-level racks and locate products according to order sheets.
• Manually places the appropriate stock items on pallet from pick slots and racks as required. Uses single and/or double pallets as directed.
• Transports completed palletized customer order to shipping dock staging area. May be required to shrink-wrap pallet for staging.
• Removes batteries requiring recharging, replace with charged batteries, or attach re-charger and complete vehicle inspection checklist.
• At the end of the shift, secures all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
• Meets required productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.
• Follows all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines.
• Ensures work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
• 6-12 months of warehouse and/or distribution work experience
• Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position
• Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift
• Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products off shelves, as well as replenish product, from various heights weighing between 10-35 pounds and generally up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location, throughout shift
• Able to work in multi-temperature environments, i.e., cooler, freezer and dry
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check

Preferred qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
• 1-2 years of warehouse and/or distribution work experience using a motorized pallet jack
• Foodservice distribution or related industry experience
• Motorized pallet jack certified
