Job summary

The Class Produce Group is seeking a dedicated warehouse associate in Jessup, MD to handle bulk produce orders from pick sheets and prepare them for delivery. The role involves pallet handling, quality checks, and safe operation of equipment.

Responsibilities include packing, labeling, loading for delivery, and maintaining a clean, safe work area in a fast-paced environment with standard daytime shifts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Produce experience is preferred for handling bulk goods.
  • 1 year of warehouse experience and Electric Pallet Jack experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pull (select) orders according to the pick sheet.
  • Unload boxes from pallet.
  • Inspect produce to ensure quality.
  • Separate product by color and size.
  • Remove defective product for disposal.
  • Scan pallets/boxes out of inventory.
  • Operate Electric Pallet Jack safely.
  • Stack cases neatly on pallets for transport.
  • Load orders onto customer vehicles or transport trucks.
  • Feed product into machines or packing tables.
  • Keep work area clean and free of water/debris.
  • Follow warehouse safety procedures and wear appropriate clothing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Description


The Selector evaluates and chooses bulk produce orders according to the pick sheet in preparation for delivery to the customer.


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Pull (select) orders according to the pick sheet

  • Unload boxes from pallet

  • Inspect produce to determine whether it meets an acceptable standard of quality

  • Separate product based on color and size

  • Remove defective product so that it may be properly disposed of

  • Scan pallets/boxes of produce out of inventory

  • Operate Electric Pallet Jack in a safe manner

  • Stack cases of produce neatly and evenly on a pallet to ensure safe transport

  • Have the order approved and checked by a Checker

  • Move finished pallets to designated area(s

  • Load orders onto customer vehicle or transport truck(s) from the dock, when needed

  • Feed product into a machine or onto packing table

  • Clean work area and keep it free of water and debris

  • Follow warehouse safety procedures for the operation of equipment, such as wearing proper clothing, safe food handling, and maintaining awareness of your surroundings and the other workers

  • Performs other duties as assigned

M-F 6am-2:30pm


Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school Diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to read and write English. Must be able to display basic arithmetic skills.


TRAINING, SKILLS, LICENSES: Produce experience is preferred. 1 year of experience working in a warehouse, Electric Pallet Jack experience preferred.


WORKING CONDITIONS

The employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently exposed to wet, loud, cold and/or humid conditions. The employee is frequently required to walk, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, rotate or twist, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
