Job summary

Migizi is hiring a cashier for the Soaring Eagle Waterpark & Hotel to provide guest service and process sales using MICROS. This role operates within the Migizi Economic Development Company policies and is part of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan.

Responsibilities include payment handling, cash balancing, and serving beverage and food orders, with shifts on weekends, evenings, and holidays. Required: 18+, background check, drug screen, and certifications within 90 days.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age
• Pass a pre-assessment math test with 80% or higher
• Pre-employment background check
• Drug screen passed successfully
• TIPS Alcohol Management and ServSafe Food Safety certifications within 90 days

Responsibilities

• Accept all forms of payment, register correctly, and return correct change
• Attend to guests' requests for food and beverages, including alcoholic drinks
• Compute order balances using MICROS, prepare bank deposits, and record income
• Issue receipts and handle refunds or exchanges for unsatisfactory items
• Read totals on cash register and balance cash on hand
• Describe items and their features to customers and quote prices
• Maintain cleanliness and safe food service area
• Follow MICROS card policy and Bank variance rules
• May be assigned to different F&B areas; keep till balanced at end of shift
• Work weekends, evenings, and holidays

Cashier - Soaring Eagle Waterpark & Hotel

Position Summary:

This position is to provide guests with quality customer service while using the MICROS system to close all sales and appropriately register the sale. Although the Soaring Eagle Water Park & Hotel is an enterprise of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan, it operates under the Migizi Economic Development Company Policies and Procedures.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible of accepting all forms of payment, register it correctly and return correct change.
• Tends to guests' requests for food and beverages including alcoholic beverages.
• Computes order balances using a cash register, prepare bank deposits and record income.
• Makes change and issues receipts to customers.
• Reads and records totals shown on cash register tape and verifies against cash on hand.
• Quotes price and describes features of items for which money is received.
• Gives cash refunds and/or exchanges for unsatisfactory food or beverage items.
• Assembles and prepares orders for guests'.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary environment.
• Understands and follows all department policies, specifically, the 'MICROS card policy' and 'Bank variance' policy.
• May be assigned to various F&B areas.
• Keep till stocked and balanced at the end of each shift.

• Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment/Safety Hazards:

Long periods of standing. Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers associated with running a cash register. Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop and twist while performing tasks. May experience exposure to water and vaporized chemicals and blood-borne spills caused by illnesses or injuries. Will be exposed to high volume stressful situations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

• 18 years of age.
• Successfully pass TIPS Alcohol Management and ServSafe Food Safety certification courses within the first 90 days of employment as a condition of continued employment.
• Pass a pre-assessment math test with an eighty (80) percent or higher.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen.
