Job summary

Core & Main in the United States is seeking a skilled laborer to support the construction of segmental retaining wall systems. You will unload materials, prepare the site, and work closely with the crew to build safe, level walls according to plans.

This role requires practical knowledge of masonry basics, the ability to operate a skid-steer or forklift, and a commitment to safety. Strong teamwork and reliability are essential for success on outdoor job sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old and able to pass pre-employment assessments.
• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• Typically 2–5 years of related construction experience.
• Knowledge of machines and tools is preferred.
• Strong time management and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Unload materials on site for retaining wall construction.
• Place, rake, and shovel stone to form a level footer.
• Hook, stack, straighten, level and shim blocks to build walls per plans.
• Identify incorrect/short shipped items and notify supervisor.
• Operate skid-steer or forklift to move materials as directed.
• Place materials like block, geogrid, fabric, and drainage components.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow safety policies.
• Record payroll hours with supervisor.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance (oil, filters, etc.).
