Olathe Animal Hospital is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our exceptional team. We are a three doctor practice serving Olathe, KS and surrounding communities since 1984. During that time, we have developed a reputation for high quality medicine and superior customer service. We are looking for someone who can lend their skills to our current team to enhance these attributes even further!

Our practice is proud to be AAHA accredited, Fear Free certified and Gold Cat Friendly Professionals. We are looking for someone who is not afraid of change and is eager to grow. A team player with a positive and upbeat personality would fit in well with our team. We not only provide care for dogs & cats but exotics too! Our team works with local area public schools to provide complimentary care to classroom exotic pets as another way to help our community.

Olathe Animal Hospital is located in a beautiful suburb of Kansas City. Olathe is in Johnson County and is routinely ranked as one of the best places to live in Kansas. Living in Olathe offers residents a dense suburban feel with numerous parks. Many families and young professionals live in Olathe. The public schools in Olathe are highly rated.


This is a full time, flexible position that would include some Saturdays. Our current hours are Monday - Friday 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturdays 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Will consider part-time if preferred.

What You'll Do

As a member of Olathe Animal Hospital, you will support the team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Skills that will be utilized may include, but are not limited to:

  • Client education and communication
  • Patient check-ins and assessment
  • Assisting DVM during outpatient appointments
  • Invoicing
  • Surgical preparation and assisting
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Radiology
  • Dentistry
  • Venipuncture, catheter placement
  • Laboratory work
  • Pharmacy duties, medication preparation and administration
  • Compassionate patient care
  • Housekeeping duties
