Job summary

KWS Seeds LLC in Tangent, OR is seeking a Quality Control Technician (full-time, permanent) to oversee daily sampling and testing of sugar beet seeds across production stages to maintain product quality.

You will perform germination, purity, moisture and genetic tests, document results, train staff, and operate lab equipment and a forklift as needed while following SOPs and safety policies. Weekend/night shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Attention to detail and aptitude for multi-tasking.
• Ability to use forceps with keen eye for detail.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts as needed.
• Ability to become forklift certified.
• Strong communication, organization and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests such as germinations, purities, TKWs, sizing, moisture, and genetic testing.
• Create, update and follow QC SOPs.
• Maintain lab testing equipment.
• Data entry using multiple input tools.
• Train new/temporary employees on SOPs.
• Develop, support and maintain respectful working relationships with all departments.
• Work rotating shifts as needed.
• Operate forklift as needed.
• Follow safety policies and PPE usage.
• Occasionally travel/driving/forklift for business.
