Job summary

PRT Growing Services in Alabama is seeking a Seed Specialist to join our new seed processing facility in West Verbena. You will perform seed processing, operate equipment, and help maximize productivity while minimizing waste in a hands-on role.

You’ll support seed cleaning, drying, and production with a focus on safety, quality, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. A bachelor’s degree in horticulture, agriculture, or forestry and experience in related operations are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in horticulture, agriculture, or forestry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent mechanical skills with repair experience.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook & Epicor.
• Strong time management and multitasking.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Practical skills operating seed processing equipment and forklifts.
• Willingness to work full-time, including peak-season weekends.

Responsibilities

• Seed Processing Operations: support seed cleaning, drying, sizing and maintenance.
• Equipment Handling: operate tractors, forklifts, boom lifts, UTVs, power tools.
• Team Collaboration: work with internal teams and external partners.
• Recordkeeping & Tracking: keep records and monitor production targets.
• Continuous Improvement: suggest safety and efficiency improvements.
• Communication & Culture: foster teamwork and honest communication.
