Job summary

PRT seeks a Seed Specialist in West Verbena, Alabama, to join a cutting-edge seed processing facility producing high-quality, genetically improved southern pine seed. The role covers seed processing, equipment operation, and team collaboration to maximize productivity and minimize waste.

You will be responsible for seed cleaning, drying, sizing, and preventive maintenance, operating tractors, forklifts, and power tools, while maintaining strong records and contributing to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in horticulture, agriculture, or forestry, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills across operations.
• Excellent mechanical skills; able to diagnose and repair minor mechanical issues.
• Proficiency with digital tools including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Epicor.

Responsibilities

• Seed processing operations: support cleaning, drying, sizing, and maintenance.
• Operate equipment including tractors, forklifts, boom lifts, UTVs, and power tools.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to hit production goals safely.
• Maintain accurate records of seed processing activities and progress.
