Job summary

Johnny's Selected Seeds is hiring an Automation Operator I – Seed Packing for our Winslow, Maine facility. The role covers operating automated packing equipment, ensuring quality, and maintaining safety and documentation. Monday–Friday, 5:50 am–2:20 pm, with overtime as needed.

Starting pay is $21.63/hour. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and troubleshoot packaging systems while supporting continuous improvement and accurate

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer, math, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to learn, operate, and troubleshoot automated seed packing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety practices and company values.
• Operate automated seed packing equipment per SOPs and standards.
• Monitor workflow to ensure accurate inventories and packaging quality.
• Document production activities, machine settings, and downtime.
• Coordinate with Maintenance/Engineering to resolve equipment issues.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
