Job summary

Central Garden & Pet is hiring a Packaging-Production Associate at our Pennington Seed facility in Lebanon, Oregon. The role focuses on maintaining line productivity and ensuring product quality, with responsibilities including coordinating line requirements, training coworkers, and reporting any equipment issues.

The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift at least 55 pounds.
• Ability to work closely with other workers on the line or area.
• Demonstrate the ability to learn new things.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Responsibilities

• Maintain line productivity at or above the accepted level for the product being manufactured.
• Know product requirements (weight, bags per pallet/box, pallet/box type) and communicate with line workers.
• Serve as quality control for what is being packaged on the line.
• Train coworkers new to the line or area when asked.
• Report mechanical problems to the shop and ensure equipment runs properly.
• Keep the line/area clean and organized at shift end.
• Report unsafe conditions or practices to the shift lead immediately.
