Advance Services Inc. is hiring a Lab Technician for a seed lab position in Ames, IA. You will prepare seed tissue for DNA extraction, handle samples and grinders, and maintain lab safety with proper PPE. Monday–Friday work with weekly pay and benefits.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in lab science and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Join a team focused on quality and safety in a dynamic lab setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Lab field is required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Prepare seed and leaf tissue for DNA extraction.
• Place seeds into sample plates and check quality.
• Process seeds into flour using grinders.
• Add chemical buffer to sample plates with machinery.
• Move consumables from pallets to lab spaces.
• Un-packaging consumables from boxes.
• Discard unused seed materials.
• Follow safety procedures in a lab environment.
• Stand or sit for long periods as activity requires.
• Wear PPE including safety glasses, lab coat, gloves, closed toe shoes, long pants, and mask when needed.
