Job summary

Memorial Health System seeks a Security Training Program Manager to design, implement and assess enterprise-wide security training across the health system. This role leads a standardized Training Academy, coordinates onboarding, and ensures alignment with healthcare security best practices and regulatory requirements.

The Manager partners with security leadership and site teams to deliver high‑quality training that supports a safe and secure environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Education, Organizational Development, Healthcare Administration, or related field is required; experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• Professional certification in training, learning and development, or instructional design preferred (ATD CPTD, APTD or equivalent).
• Certification by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board or equivalent certifying body recommended for candidates with a Law Enforcement background.
• BLS Certification within 30 days of hire required.
• Valid Driver’s License with 5 years driving experience and MVR approval per MH Fleet Safety Program.

Responsibilities

• Provide functional guidance to trainers and SMEs in developing and enhancing enterprise-wide security training programs.
• Design and manage a standardized Security Training Academy, including curriculum, scheduling, delivery, and evaluation.
• Develop and maintain training curriculum aligned with healthcare security best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure training compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
• Establish and monitor competency requirements for security roles with assessments and evaluations.
• Evaluate training effectiveness using metrics, feedback, and outcomes; implement improvements as needed.
• Coordinate onboarding for new security colleagues from academy to site orientation.
• Oversee training documentation, records management, and reporting for audit readiness.
• Provide guidance for training staff or SMEs delivering specialized training.
• Collaborate with security leadership, clinical leaders, HR, and stakeholders to align programs with goals.
• Support policy development and standards for security training and competencies.
• Participate in planning and resource allocation for training programs.
• Serve as SME on security training and emerging healthcare security trends.
