This position is responsible for daily service delivery, preventive maintenance, system troubleshooting, and ad-hoc project support across the client's access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.

This role requires a highly capable and self-motivated technician who can work independently, manage competing service priorities, and maintain strong working relationships with client personnel and onsite service partners. As a primary onsite representative of Premise One, the technician must consistently demonstrate professionalism, responsiveness, technical expertise, and a commitment to customer service.

The position may also provide technical leadership to junior technicians and assist with the client's ongoing access control hardware replacement project as service workload permits.

Key Responsibilities
Embedded Client Support
  • Serve as Premise One's primary embedded technical resource at the assigned client location.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with client representatives, facilities personnel, security teams, and onsite contractors.
  • Respond to daily service requests and prioritize work based on urgency, operational impact, and client expectations.
  • Provide timely updates regarding ticket status, system conditions, scheduling conflicts, and issues requiring escalation.
  • Coordinate daily activities with the client while remaining accountable to Premise One's Service Manager.
Service and Maintenance
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, system inspections, device testing, and corrective repairs.
  • Support door hardware, field devices, control panels, power supplies, readers, locks, request-to-exit devices, and associated system components.
  • Troubleshoot control panel wiring, relay logic, network connectivity, field device communication, and system integration issues.
  • Verify that completed repairs restore the system to proper operation and meet Premise One and client standards.
Project and Installation Support
  • Support ad-hoc installation and upgrade projects across access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems.
  • Assist with the client's ongoing access control hardware replacement project as service workload permits.
  • Perform device replacements, field hardware installation, control panel terminations, programming, testing, and commissioning.
  • Coordinate with approved subcontractors or certified locksmiths when specialized work is required.
  • Ensure door coring and modifications to fire-rated openings are performed only by properly qualified and certified contractors.
  • Coordinate with the client's designated low-voltage cabling contractor when new cabling or infrastructure work is required. Cable installation by this position is expected to be limited.
Testing and Documentation
  • Test and verify all completed repairs, installations, programming changes, and system modifications.
  • Accurately document labor, materials, troubleshooting steps, system conditions, and completed work in the designated ticketing system.
  • Provide clear service notes, photographs, testing results, and client communications for each assigned ticket.
  • Complete timecards, service documentation, and project records accurately and on time.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend corrective actions or long-term system improvements.
Safety and Quality
  • Conduct pre-work site assessments and required safety checks before beginning work.
  • Follow all Premise One, client, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and protect the client's facilities and active operations.
  • Complete work in accordance with applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and industry standards.
  • Escalate unsafe conditions, system risks, scope conflicts, or quality concerns immediately.
Qualifications
  • Five or more years of relevant experience installing, servicing, maintaining, or troubleshooting commercial low-voltage systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience with access control, CCTV/video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Working knowledge of Lenel access control systems, including field hardware, control panels, system navigation, and troubleshooting.
