Job summary

Security Engineers, Inc. is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Security Systems Technician to support access control and VMS installations in client facilities.

You will configure devices, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with contractors, while maintaining security standards and documentation. The role requires strong technical and communication skills, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel between client sites for projects.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in electronics, engineering, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of security systems technician experience or 3 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

Configure, maintain, assemble, and program access control and VMS systems, including card readers and cameras.
Serve as client representative when coordinating with outside contractors on installations and repairs.
Troubleshoot and service systems according to approved guidelines and standards.
Read and follow installation prints/diagrams.
Respond to trouble and occasional after-hours calls.
Document installation and maintenance activity accurately.
Maintain a safe work environment and confidentiality of security information.

Security Engineers Inc. is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and client-focused Security Systems Technician who demonstrates initiative, communicates effectively, and provides high-quality service and support.

Qualifications & Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in electronics, engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 1 year of security systems technician experience or 3 years of related experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and working knowledge of electronics field, computer hardware/software, data networks, cabling, and AC/DC voltage.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Valid driver’s license and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company approved driver standards.
Must be willing travel between the client facilities for special projects.
Experience with Lenel, Pro-Watch (ProWatch), or other ID card/access control management software preferred.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Configure, maintain, assemble, and program access control and VMS systems, including card readers, electronic door hardware, cameras, panic devices, gates, and intercom/phone devices.
Act as a representative of the client when dealing with outside contractors on security device installations and repairs.
Service and troubleshoot systems according to approved guidelines and standards.
Read and follow installation prints and diagrams.
Respond to trouble and occasional emergency after-hours calls.
Document installation and maintenance activity accurately.
Maintain a safe work environment and keep security information confidential.

Minimum Physical Requirements With or Without Reasonable Accommodation

Education & Experience:

Minimum:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
1+ year with security technology.
Experience: 1+ years of verifiable security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Preferred:

Education: Associate degree or higher preferred.
Experience: 3+ years of verifiable security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
