Job summary

Security Engineers, Inc. in Marysville, OH is seeking an organized Security Systems Technician to install, configure, and service access control and video systems for diverse client sites.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; further education preferred.
1+ year of verifiable security systems technician experience or 3 years related experience.
Associate degree or higher in electronics, engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Configure, maintain, assemble, and program access control and video management systems, including readers, hardware, cameras, panic devices, gate hardware, and intercom devices.
Maintain and configure readers, locks, iSTAR panels, boards, cameras, DVRs, and related components.
Interact with clients and outside contractors for installations and repairs.
Troubleshoot systems according to standards; document activity accurately.
Maintain safety and confidentiality of security information.
Stay current with education opportunities and technical publications.

Job Description

SEI is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, client-focused Security Systems Technician who takes initiative, communicates effectively, and delivers high-quality service and support.

Qualifications:

Valid driver's license and approved MVR when driving duties are required.
Must be at least 18 years old
Must have or be able to obtain any licenses or certifications that are required.

Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and working knowledge of field electronics, computer hardware and software, data networks, cabling, and AC/DC voltage.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experience with Lenel OnGuard is essential; experience with Honeywell Pro-Watch, Milestone XProtect, ExacqVision, EST, and AVTEC is preferred.
AutoCAD experience is beneficial.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Configure, maintain, assemble, and program access control and video management systems, including card readers, electronic door hardware, cameras, panic devices, gate hardware, and intercom/phone devices.
Maintain, replace, and configure access readers, magnetic locks, iSTAR panels, boards, cameras, DVRs, duress buttons, and gate arms as needed.
Act as a representative of the client when dealing with outside contractors on security device installations and repairs.
Service and troubleshoot systems according to approved guidelines and standards.
Mount and terminate field devices and run, strip, and terminate cables as required.Read and follow installation prints and diagrams.
Respond to trouble and occasional emergency after-hours calls.
Document installation and maintenance activity accurately.
Maintain customer rapport by resolving concerns and answering questions.
Maintain a safe and secure work environment and keep security information confidential.
Maintain job knowledge through educational opportunities and technical publications.

Minimum Physical Requirements With or Without Reasonable Accommodation (Subject to change based on client-specific needs)

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Ability to conduct site inspections, including walking up to one-half mile.
Ability to climb stairs in multi-level facilities.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to use computers, telephones, radios, and other standard office equipment.

Education & Experience:

Minimum:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 1+ years of verifiable security systems technician experience or 3 years of related experience.

Preferred:

Education: Associate degree or higher in electronics, engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years of related security systems experience.
