Job summary

Avo Photonics seeks an Access Control & Security Specialist to safeguard facilities and personnel. You will own the access control systems, manage employee badges, and maintain surveillance camera networks.

The role requires hands-on hardware and wiring skills, plus experience with ethernet/POE, and proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. You will collaborate with facilities and IT to ensure 24x7 security and compliant access governance.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience with access control systems and surveillance camera systems.
• Associates degree in electronics, information systems, or related technical field.
• Familiarity with ethernet, POE, and low voltage wiring for access hardware.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
• Excellent communication skills.

Specifically

• Manage the access control system for Avo Photonics facilities to ensure security and maintain employee safety
• Define, implement, and maintain an organized database of user profiles with specific access levels
• Oversee the employee badging process for onboarding and offboarding; regularly audit access credentials to verify accuracy
• Define, implement, and manage appropriate alerts for access controls to ensure 24x7 security
• Manage and maintain Avo’s surveillance camera systems for security and employee safety
• Perform minor wiring and hardware installation for access control and camera devices

Requirements

• 3 years prior experience with access control systems and surveillance camera systems
• Associates degrees in electronics, information systems, or related technical field
• Familiarity with ethernet connections, POE, and low voltage wiring for access hardware
• Strong computer skills including use of Microsoft 365 and Google workspace
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
