Description
The Department of Mental Health (DMH), Southeastern Area, Corrigan Mental Health Center is seeking a dynamic candidate to serve as a Security Team Specialist (STS I). The incumbent will perform related law enforcement duties to ensure the safety and security of the institution, and the population served. Monitor the safety of facility by patrolling building, grounds and adjacent areas. Incumbent will enforce Massachusetts General Law, Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Laws, and Department of Mental Health Regulations and Policies.
Please Note : This is a temporary position to cover a leave of abse nce. The duration of this position will cease when this position is no longer required. T he selected candidate's work schedule will be 40 hours per week working split shifts, on third shift (11 p.m. to 7 a.m.) on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and on first shift (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.) on Friday and Saturday with the days off of Wednesday and Thursday. The primary work location will be Corrigan Mental Health Center, however, this position will support all sites in the Southeast Area as needed.

The Dr. John C. Corrigan Mental Health Center/Fall River Site provides comprehensive services to adults and children. Programs include a 16-bed acute in-patient unit, Case Management, Day Treatment Program and Adult Community Clinical Services. Special Requirements: Possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
Appointee must be eligible for appointment as a special police officer under Chapter 22C, Section 60 (DPH) and Section 59 (DMH & DMR) of the Massachusetts General Laws.
Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
