Job Description:

As a Security systems technician with BearCom, you will be responsible for the installation and support of both onsite and cloud-based Video Surveillance, Access Control systems, Intrusion Detection and perimeter detection systems.

Our Technicians are the heart of every service location, and we rely on their expertise in the delivery of the best service and solutions for our customers. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service and possess the technical ability to create imaginative solutions that meet and exceed the most challenging customer needs.

  • Install, Commission, Troubleshoot, and Repair Large-Scale Video Surveillance and Access Control Systems
  • Troubleshoot and Repair Peripheral Devices (e.g., PoE Network Switches, UPS Battery Backups, Equipment Racks, Video Walls, Access Control Boards, Electrified Locking Hardware, Card Readers, Door Contacts, etc.)
  • Install Proof-of-Concept Deployments for Customer Demonstrations
  • Read and Interpret Design Drawings and Technical Documentation,
  • Some Regional and/or Overnight Travel and On-Call Hours May Be Required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, installing, and commissioning video, intrusion and access control type systems.
  • A good base knowledge of networks and electronic systems.
  • Reads basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures; Interprets manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency in operating various test equipment including but not limited to, utility software applications, network testers, and multi-meters.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Preferred Experience video and access control security systems.
  • Team driven individual in a dynamic work environment, self-driven to perform even without outside direction.
  • Experienced Installing and Troubleshooting IP Video Surveillance and Access Control Systems
  • Fundamental Knowledge of LAN/WAN Architecture
  • Ability to Follow Low Voltage Installation Best Practices
  • Ability to Work in Unusual and Sometimes Difficult Positions (e.g., Climbing Ladders and Scaffolding, Crawl Spaces, High-Reach Lift Equipment)
  • Must Have Valid Driver’s License
  • Must Have High School Diploma
  • Drug Screenings, Motor Vehicle Record, and Background Checks Part of the Hiring Process
