Job summary

Preferred Technologies, LLC in Austin, TX seeks a Security Technician 1 to assist with installing access control, IP/analog video, intrusion, and auto-gate systems. You will document work, communicate clearly, and support field installations.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma, be 18+, and hold a TX driver’s license with 0–2 years’ experience. The role includes field travel, safety adherence, and teamwork in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid TX Driver’s License.
• 0–2 years’ experience.
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and testing of access control, intrusion, and camera systems.
• Assist in troubleshooting cabling, card readers, door contacts, mag locks, electrified strikes, cameras, PLC, intrusion, and integrated systems.
• Understand low voltage systems including relays, normally open/closed, and wiring configurations.
