Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Security Service Technician with programming, troubleshooting, and repair capabilities to support our service team and clients. This role focuses on maintaining life safety systems and ensuring optimal performance through meticulous diagnostics and timely repairs.

You will work onsite with clients, document repair reports and field surveys, and train other technicians while upholding safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of experience in a technician role within the building security systems industry.
• Knowledge of current security systems including access control, IP video, and voice and data systems.
• Ability to read fire and security system design drawings.
• OSHA safety standards knowledge and ability to obtain OSHA 10.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Able to travel occasionally overnight.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair security systems including analog, IP, addressable, and networked solutions.
• Program and maintain intermediate equipment and systems including intrusion detection, video surveillance, asset protection, environmental detection, holdup/duress.
• Use a variety of troubleshooting tools to analyze systems and detect fault conditions.
• Produce repair reports and field surveys daily project logs of activity.
• Program systems via laptop computers.
• Provide support to other technicians and train them.
• Take ownership of onsite projects with safety, quality, and performance.
