Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Security Installation Technician for permanent, on-site work in Madison, WI. You will install, test, and maintain commercial low-voltage security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion alarms, while coordinating with project teams.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of hands-on experience, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams. Standard hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with overtime possible.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience installing commercial low-voltage or security systems.
• Hands-on experience with access control, CCTV/IP camera systems and intrusion alarm systems.
• Proficiency with low-voltage wiring, terminations, labeling and testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber).
• Install and configure access control, CCTV/IP video, intrusion alarms, and intercom systems.
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, floor plans, and project specs to plan installations.
• Mount cameras, readers, door contacts, detectors, control panels, and networking gear as required.
• Test, commission, and troubleshoot systems to ensure proper operation and standards compliance.
• Coordinate with project managers, customers, electricians, and other trades to stay on schedule.
