Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Commercial Installer to work onsite with our commercial customers to install and program Integrated Security fire and security systems.

You will also dismantle and reconstruct equipment as needed, ensuring safe installation and high service standards. You will read blueprints, follow wiring diagrams, test systems to connect to the signal-receiving center, and coordinate with police and fire departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school training a plus.
• 4+ years electrical/electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate a fleet vehicle safely.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install devices and dismantle/reconstruct equipment as required by customer.
• Follow wiring diagrams and hookup procedures; test system operation.
• Read building electrical and sprinkler blueprints as needed.
• Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and manage records for notifications.
• May lead installation teams on larger projects and mentor junior installers.

What you will do

As a critical part of the team, the Commercial Installer works onsite with our commercial customers to set up and program their Integrated Security fire and security systems. The Commercial Installer also dismantles and reconstructs equipment when necessary.

How you will do it

• Installs appropriate devices; dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
• Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
• Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
• Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.
• Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
• Tests operation of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
• Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $24-33 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.)
