Job summary

Johnson Controls currently seeks a Commercial Installer to work onsite with our commercial customers, setting up and programming Integrated Security fire and security systems. You will also dismantle and reconstruct equipment as needed and ensure safety, accuracy, and quality in every installation.

The role requires reading blueprints, operating hand and power tools, and coordinating with customers to verify schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school training is a plus.
• 2+ years of electrical/electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate a fleet vehicle safely and maintain safe work practices.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and program Integrated Security fire and security systems onsite for commercial customers.
• Dismantle and reconstruct equipment when necessary.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness; manage installation debris.
• Coordinate with customers to verify installation schedules.
• Prepare estimates following supervisor guidance.
• Follow wiring diagrams and hookup procedures; test system operation.

What you will do

As a critical part of the team, the Commercial Installer works onsite with our commercial customers to set up and program their Integrated Security fire and security systems. The Commercial Installer also dismantles and reconstructs equipment when necessary.

How you will do it

• Installs appropriate devices; dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
• Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
• Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
• Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.
• Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
• Tests operation of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
• Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $20-25 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
