Job summary

Securitas Technology is seeking an Applications Engineer to formulate engineered estimates and budgets for security projects. You will work with consultants, engineers, and sales teams to prepare bids and drive cost-effective solutions while ensuring compliance with codes.

Responsibilities include analyzing drawings, performing take-offs, maintaining pricing databases, and collaborating across departments to deliver accurate estimates and on-time proposals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years estimating in the fire alarm and/or security/low voltage field.
• Education BA Business/ BS Engineering or MS Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of NFPA and NEC codes.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed construction drawings and scope documentation.
• Experience with major manufacturers (e.g., Silent Knight, Firelite, Bosch, Lenel, Genetec).

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specs, and scope for fire/security projects.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Conduct take-offs and identify value‑engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with vendors to source pricing.
• Develop bid proposals and ensure timely submissions.
• Coordinate with sales and project management for handoffs.
