Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a BIM/Revit Designer for a federal government‑related client. You will own the production of high‑quality BIM models and construction documentation, producing shop drawings and as‑builts, while coordinating with engineering teams and external stakeholders to meet contract requirements.

The role demands deep Revit expertise, the ability to manage multiple deliverables, and clear communication with clients in a fast‑paced environment. U.S.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • 3–5 years hands-on Revit experience.
  • AutoCAD experience (3–5 years).
  • Experience producing construction documentation (shop drawings, as‑builts, submittals).
  • Experience with BIM modeling and coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings/specifications.
  • Experience working directly with customers/end users.
  • Familiarity with security systems (ACS, VMS, IDS/PIDS).
  • Ability to pass DOJ background check and drug test.
  • Experience on government, DoD, or federal projects.
  • Experience with clash detection tools.
  • Experience with scan-to-BIM / point cloud workflows.
  • Background in security system design (ESS preferred).
  • Relevant Autodesk certifications or technical degree.
  • Prior experience transitioning between BIM and other engineering/design responsibilities.
  • Create and maintain Revit BIM models for security/low‑voltage systems.
  • Produce construction documentation and submittal‑ready drawing packages.
  • Develop and deliver LOD-specific as‑built models at project closeout.
  • Convert 2D AutoCAD drawings into coordinated Revit models.
  • Perform QA/QC audits on models and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, PMs, GCs, and stakeholders.
  • Resolve clashes and ensure coordination across disciplines.
  • Maintain and improve templates, families, and BIM standards.

This candidate will be responsible for owning the production of high-quality BIM models and construction documentation for federal and government-related projects. The role is highly hands‑on and requires deep expertise in Revit, with the ability to produce detailed shop drawings, maintain accurate as‑builts, and ensure project deliverables meet contract requirements. The designer will collaborate closely with engineering teams and external stakeholders while managing coordination, documentation standards, and deadlines across multiple projects.
