Due to continued growth, we areseeking a skilled and dedicated Security Systems Installation Technician to join our growing team. In this crucial role, you will be the expert responsible for the seamless setup and initial configuration of a variety of security systems for our valued residential and commercial clients. This position demands a strong understanding of diverse security technologies, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring the proper and efficient installation of systems that meet our clients' needs within our Merrimack service area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expertly set up and install a variety of security systems, including wired and wireless alarms, IP and analog surveillance cameras, and access control systems (e.g., keycard entry, biometric scanners) at residential and commercial properties.
- Configure newly installed systems to meet client specifications and ensure proper functionality upon completion of the installation process.
- Neatly and accurately run and terminate low voltage wiring for security devices, adhering to industry best practices and safety standards.
- Conduct thorough testing of all installed components and systems to verify correct operation and ensure they meet performance standards.
- Provide clear and concise explanations of the newly installed system to clients, ensuring they understand basic operation and functionality.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate records of all installations performed, including wiring diagrams and system configurations, for each job site to ensure clarity and accountability.
- Ensure all installations are performed in strict adherence to relevant industry standards and local regulations, prioritizing safety and quality.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the professional installation of security systems.
- Strong familiarity with a wide range of security technologies and equipment from leading manufacturers.
- Demonstrated experience with low voltage wiring and cable termination.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical certification or associate's degree in electronics, IT or a related field is a significant plus, providing a strong foundation in electronics principles.
- Aptitude for understanding technical manuals and installation guides.
- Ability to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Basic understanding of network principles.
- Good verbal communication skills to interact professionally with clients during the installation process.
- A high level of precision and meticulous attention to detail in executing all technical work, ensuring accuracy and reliability of installations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry certifications such as NICET Fire Alarm Systems, ESA National Training School certifications, specific manufacturer training, and a Class D License are valuable assets.
- Experience with network configuration related to security system installations.
- Familiarity with various mounting techniques and hardware for security devices.
Working Conditions:
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including occasional weekends or evenings, based on client installation schedules within the Merrimack and surrounding service area.
- Willingness to travel to different job sites across New England
- Hourly wage range: $25.00+ per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
