A municipal authority is seeking a qualified individual to oversee operations and supervise security personnel at a residential center. Key responsibilities include managing security for up to 350 residents, investigating criminal activities related to the facility, and ensuring compliance with laws and policies. Candidates should possess an Associate degree in Criminal Justice and have at least two years of relevant experience. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.
This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and supervising the security personnel related to Duvall Residential Center (DRC). This position is responsible for the overall security and supervision of up to 350 residents, the facility and its immediate surroundings.
Reviews and investigates all criminal matters related to the facility, both internal and external, as well as staff impropriety and criminal activity conducted by residents inside the facility.
This position has wide latitude to make decisions related to public safety, team-member safety, client safety and accountability for records management, maintenance and retention, and administrative services.
Associate degree in Criminal Justice or a related field with two (2) years of experience in the criminal justice system. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required, in the absence of a degree.
Successful completion of all trainings and no current disciplinary actions or work plans. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Requires knowledge in leadership, management, personnel and process performance measurement, investigative principles and practices used in ensuring compliance with appropriate state and federal laws, regulations and requirements of court evidence, and training.
Must be able to advise and assist team-members and the public in all aspects of the agency. Must be able to interface with the public regarding procedures.
Must be able to interpret and explain court decisions to residents, others, and managers. Emotional intelligence when dealing with people of all backgrounds.
Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field with one (1) year of experience in the criminal justice system.
