Justice Grown is seeking a Security Supervisor to lead security operations, ensure compliance with cannabis regulations, and manage a team of security personnel in a fast-paced retail environment.
The role requires extensive experience in security leadership, CCTV and access-control systems, and strong communication skills to collaborate with HR, Compliance, and Operations.

This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced security professional who is comfortable leading a team, responding to incidents, managing schedules and coverage, conducting investigations, reviewing surveillance, and stepping into day-to-day security operations when needed.
The Security Supervisor will work closely with the Security Manager, Human Resources, Operations, Compliance, and other company leaders to identify risks, investigate incidents, maintain appropriate security controls, and foster a safe, professional, and welcoming environment.
We are looking for a dependable and experienced leader who exercises sound judgment, communicates effectively, holds team members accountable, and understands that strong security requires both proactive prevention and decisive action when issues arise.
Supervise day-to-day security operations and security personnel.
Ensure security practices are consistent with company policies, procedures, and applicable cannabis regulations.
Conduct routine security inspections to identify and address potential theft, diversion, unauthorized access, safety concerns, or security vulnerabilities.
Monitor and oversee security systems, including CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and other security technology.
Review and preserve surveillance footage for investigations, incidents, employee matters, or other business needs.
Investigate security-related incidents and prepare accurate, timely incident reports.
Ensure security logs, reports, access records, and compliance documentation are completed and maintained appropriately.
Issue and manage security access cards and maintain accurate access-control records.
Partner with law enforcement, regulatory agencies, inspectors, and company leadership when appropriate.
Assist with sensitive employee-related matters, workplace investigations, and terminations in partnership with Human Resources when requested.
Identify security concerns and recommend practical solutions to reduce organizational risk.
Supervise, coach, train, and develop security team members.
Ensure security personnel understand company expectations, post responsibilities, emergency procedures, de-escalation techniques, and regulatory requirements.
Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Address attendance, performance, conduct, and accountability concerns in partnership with the Security Manager and Human Resources.
Support performance evaluations and development discussions for security team members.
Promote professionalism, consistency, accountability, and sound judgment across the security team.
Serve as a point of escalation for security concerns and incidents.
Support the Security Manager with investigations, policy enforcement, and operational security needs.
Develop and maintain security schedules to ensure adequate coverage based on operational needs.
Review time-off requests while considering staffing and coverage requirements.
Review and approve employee timekeeping and payroll-related information in accordance with company procedures.
Monitor staffing needs and proactively address potential coverage gaps.
Provide Security Officer coverage when operational needs, call-outs, PTO, emergencies, or staffing shortages require it.
Maintain flexibility to respond to operational needs across nights, weekends, holidays, and other periods requiring additional security support.
Support the development and implementation of emergency response procedures for incidents including theft, medical emergencies, fire, workplace violence, security threats, and other critical situations.
Coordinate and participate in emergency drills and security training.
Respond appropriately to security incidents and ensure timely escalation to leadership when necessary.
Partner with other departments to identify potential security vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
Assist with workplace violence prevention, emergency preparedness, and other risk-management initiatives.
Maintain composure and sound judgment during high-pressure or rapidly evolving situations.
Help maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for customers, visitors, and team members.
Proactively identify and address behavior or circumstances that could create a safety or security concern.
Provide guidance to security personnel regarding conflict resolution and de-escalation.
Ensure appropriate access control and identification-verification practices.
Address disruptive, threatening, or inappropriate behavior in accordance with company procedures.
Model professional and respectful interactions at all times.
Communicate security concerns, incidents, risks, and recommendations clearly to leadership.
Build effective working relationships with Operations, Human Resources, Compliance, and other business partners.
Maintain professional relationships with law enforcement, regulators, inspectors, vendors, and other external partners.
Provide clear, factual, and timely documentation regarding security matters.
Make practical recommendations that support both operational needs and security requirements.
Bachelor's degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in security, law enforcement, military security, corporate security, loss prevention, or a related field.
At least 2 years of security leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
Experience supervising security personnel and holding employees accountable for performance and conduct.
Experience conducting security investigations and preparing incident documentation.
Experience reviewing CCTV footage and working with access-control and alarm systems.
Experience with scheduling, employee timekeeping, and maintaining appropriate security coverage.
Experience working with law enforcement, regulatory agencies, or other external partners preferred.
Experience in cannabis, retail security, regulated industries, or another high-risk environment strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of security operations, incident response, access control, investigations, and emergency procedures.
Knowledge of New Jersey cannabis security and compliance requirements strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of CCTV, access-control systems, alarm systems, and other security technology.
Strong leadership and employee-management skills.

This is an on-site, exempt leadership position. The Security Supervisor must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business and operational needs, including nights, weekends, holidays, emergencies, and periods requiring additional security coverage.
This position requires an individual who understands that security leadership extends beyond a traditional Monday-through-Friday schedule and who is prepared to respond when operational needs require leadership presence or additional coverage.
Must successfully complete all required background checks.
Must obtain and maintain any state-issued credentials or approvals required for the position.

Cannabis industry experience.
Retail, corporate, or high-risk security experience.
Military or law enforcement background.
Experience in a highly regulated industry.
Professional security certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or similar credentials.
