The Security Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating security operations across multiple facilities to protect employees, visitors, assets, products, and company information. This position oversees security personnel and third-party security providers, ensures compliance with company policies and applicable regulations, and drives consistent security standards across multiple sites.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on security leader with strong supervisory, risk management, incident response, and communication skills, capable of managing security operations in a dynamic manufacturing and logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations & Site Protection
- Supervise daily security operations across multiple locations.
- Establish and maintain security procedures, protocols, and standards for all sites.
- Ensure effective access control for employees, contractors, visitors, vehicles, and vendors.
- Oversee security of facilities, equipment, inventory, raw materials, finished goods, and other company assets.
- Conduct regular security inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Security Personnel & Vendor Management
- Lead, supervise, and develop security guards and other security personnel.
- Manage third-party security contractors, ensuring staffing levels, performance, training, and compliance with contractual requirements.
- Establish clear expectations, KPIs, schedules, and performance standards for security teams.
- Conduct regular meetings and site visits to ensure consistent execution across locations.
- Support investigations and performance management related to security personnel.
- Lead the response to security incidents, emergencies, theft, workplace violence, unauthorized access, property damage, and other security-related events.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and internal leadership when required.
- Conduct incident investigations, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain emergency response and crisis management procedures.
- Participate in business continuity and emergency preparedness activities.
Technology & Security Systems
- Oversee the effective use of security systems, including:
- Access control systems
- Alarm systems
- Visitor management systems
- Vehicle/gate control systems
- Security communication systems
- Identify opportunities to improve security through technology and automation.
- Ensure security systems are properly maintained and operational.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure compliance with company security policies, customer requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct periodic security audits and assessments across all assigned locations.
- Develop and maintain security procedures, reports, and documentation.
- Track security KPIs, incidents, trends, and corrective actions.
- Recommend continuous improvements to strengthen the company's overall security program.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse or industrial security.
- Previous experience supervising security teams and/or third-party security providers.
- Experience managing multi-site security operations is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of access control, CCTV, incident investigation, emergency response, and loss prevention.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, particularly for environments with a diverse workforce.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with security management systems is a plus.
- Ability to travel between assigned locations as required.
