Job summary

Choice Hotels International, Inc. is seeking a Security Supervisor to aid the Director of Security and Security Manager in the daily operations and long-term safety planning at the Radisson Blu Mall of America.

The role requires at least one year of security supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond to emergencies, with a regular shift including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The role of Security Superivsor is to aid the Director of Security and Security Manager with the day-to-day operation and long-term outlook of the safety and security department. . Unique. Stylish. The Radisson Blu Mall of America features 500 design forward guest rooms, unique spaces and over 26,000 square feet of meeting space, and is the first hotel connected to the Mall of America. As a Security Supervisor for the Radisson Blu Mall of America, no two days will be the same. You, along with the Security team, will be responsible for keeping the guests and employees of the hotel safe on a daily basis.

Hourly Wage: $24.00

Key Responsibilities

• Perform assigned lead/supervisory function to insure delivery of quality service, maintain employee morale.
• Prepare for and conduct pass down.
• Respond to emergency situations.
• Investigate and document all occurrences in incident reports.
• Provide leadership to ensure the efficiency of the departments operations.
• Support the needs of management and subordinates.
• Be first contact for emergency agencies such as, but not limited to, police department or fire department.
• Notify management to all major incidents occurring during the watch.
• Complete daily paperwork.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, the lead security officer may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
• Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
• This position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the lead security officer based upon the particular requirements of the company.
• Comply with work rules and standards per the associate handbook and as directed by management.
• The ability to follow payroll and key sign out procedures
• The ability to respond properly to any hotel emergency or safety situation
• The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff
• Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and management
• The ability to offer any assistance possible to guests
• Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion
• Assist and provide leadership during all investigations performed on shift.
• Provide accurate information to in inquirers for directions and hours of operations.
• Escort guests and team members as required to parking lots.
• Other duties as assigned by Director of Security or Security Manager.

Requirements/Skills

• Associates/Bachelors Degree or equivalent preferred (additional training [e.g. military, law enforcement] and education is highly desirable)
• Ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year security supervisory experience
• Experience with MS Office applications and Outlook required
• Previous work experience should include working in a high-volume environment, as well as, customer-service oriented atmosphere
• Demonstrates strong verbal and interpersonal skills
• Works well independently or as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Commitment to exceptional guest service
• Adhere to the policies and procedures of the hotel
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Physical Demands

• Perform repetitive hand and arm movements

The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift and alter assigned duties as business dictates.
