Job summary

Fox Theatre is seeking a Security Supervisor to manage security functions for both public and private events. The candidate will oversee safety personnel and ensure a secure environment for guests. Responsibilities include managing crowd control, supervising the security team, and coordinating with local authorities during events.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma, 3+ years of event security experience, and strong communication skills. Leadership experience is preferred. The role requires the ability to work variable shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of Event Security Experience, particularly in crowd management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Trained Crowd Manager certification preferred.

Job description

Security Supervisor

The Security Supervisor will supervise all security functions related to both public and private events, at the direction of the Security Manager, including serving as the Security Lead or liaison in the absence of the security Manager. The Security Supervisor will oversee all life safety and security personnel to ensure a safe and enjoyable guest experience for internal and external guests.

Major Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Security Lead during public events including overseeing the day‑of execution of security plans for front and back of house needs, personnel and equipment deployments, general crowd management, artist meet & greets, and other special requests as needed.
  • Oversee all aspects of the security screening process and credential requirements for event attendees and backstage guests (artists, crew, stagehands, etc.) as required by each event. Disseminate information related to credentials or access to other Security Officers.
  • Limit loss and damage by reporting and documenting any irregularities (trespassers, building damage, leaks, unsecured access points, etc.) and by informing violators of policies and procedures. Complete event reports for each public event.
  • Coordinate event security specifics and emergency responses with on‑site local life safety for each event, including police, fire, medics, etc.
  • Assist the Security Manager in the implementation of event documentation, planning, and execution when necessary.
  • Other duties as directed.
Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications
  • Must have a High School diploma or GED.
  • Must have 3 or more years of Event Security Experience, specifically related to crowd management or screening for prohibited items.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Must be proficient in general computer skills including word processing, e‑mail, internet navigation, and web searches.
  • Must be able to work successfully both as part of a team and independently with limited instruction.
  • Must be able to remain calm and assertive when dealing with angry, unruly, and/or emotional guests during times of heightened and intense interactions.
  • Must be able to maintain strict company, staff, and guest confidentiality.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Trained Crowd Manager certification preferred.
  • Experience with Avigilon or similar camera monitoring software preferred.
  • Supervisory or Leadership Experience preferred.
  • Essential Physical Requirements:
  • Extended periods during which there is continuous physical exertion required.
  • Must be able to frequently traverse the building including moving between multiple floors and ascending/descending stairs.
  • Must be able to lift materials or equipment up to 50 pounds occasionally and must be able to pull/push/move up to 100 pounds with assistance if necessary.
  • This position will require the ability to physically assist guests and employees as needed.
Other Requirements
  • Must be able to work variable shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Regular requirement to work extended or irregular hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Successful applicants must be able to pass a post‑offer, pre‑employment background check.
