Job summary

University of Hawai'i system seeks a Security Admin/ CMMC Research Tech Analyst to safeguard research environments and oversee compliant cloud deployments. You will design security frameworks, guide researchers in secure cloud usage, and align cloud enclaves with CMMC and NIST standards.

You will collaborate across ITS groups to implement SSPs, conduct training, and ensure timely incident response and remediation for regulated data in cloud and on-premises environments.

Qualifications

• Possession of a pertinent baccalaureate degree in Computer Sciences or Information Security or related field with 5 years of progressively responsible IT security experience.
• Broad knowledge of information security concepts, principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Experience with cloud security, secure cloud architectures, and regulatory compliance (CMMC/NIST 800-171/800-53).
• Ability to translate federal rules and requirements into actionable steps and to map controls to CMMC levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain UH information security data protection, risk management, and compliance programs as the primary Research SRE Technical Analyst.
• Design, implement, and oversee security frameworks for federally funded research ensuring CMMC, NIST, HIPAA, and other regulations.
• Collaborate with researchers to apply secure cloud resources (AWS, GCP, Azure) for research workloads.
• Lead workshops and create documentation for securing cloud resources and regulatory compliance.
