The ideal candidate has a BS degree, 3+ years of security experience, and ability to obtain Secret clearance. Will perform audits, prepare documentation, and ensure compliance with security requirements.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of security classification methods and eligibility for access to classified information.
  • Experience with conducting inspections, audits, and handling security documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Classify, mark, redact, handle, transport, and safeguard protected/classified information.
  • Provide guidance for declassification, regrading, and marking of information.
  • Administer access control for meetings and events involving classified material.
  • Process courier letters, shipment controls, and security requests for classified materials.
  • Prepare SF-700 and other forms supporting collateral security.
  • Assist in identifying meeting spaces and security requirements for sensitive meetings.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and spot-checks of security containers.

We are currently seeking a Security Specialist II (INFOSEC) to support our NSWC customer in Crane, IN. The ideal candidate will be able to perform the following duties, as well as possess the following education and experience.

This role requires in-person support.

Duties:
  • Apply requirements for classifying, marking, redacting, handling, transporting and safeguarding of protected and/or classified information and implement original and derivative classification standards.
  • Provide guidance and oversight for declassification, regrading, and marking classified and controlled unclassified information.
  • Conduct reviews and inspections to determine compliance with and adherence to security related requirements and document findings and recommendations of suspected security violation.
  • Administer classified mail operations and access control for classified meetings, conferences and events.
  • Process courier letter request forms and courier authorization letters for transport of classified material
  • Process shredder authorization letters and validate hardware requests against the National Security Agency's approved product list. Process Portable Electronic Device (PED) and Photography Authorization letters
  • Administer Security Container Information forms (SF-700) for collateral (non-SCI) security containers.
  • Assist departments in identifying meeting spaces and the security requirements before, during and after sensitive and/or classified meetings.
  • Conduct audits, inspections and spot-checks of collateral (non-sensitive compartmented information) security containers.
  • Prepare forms, reports and any other documentation to support findings and determinations resulting from surveys, assessments, audits or any other type of observable process.

  • BS or BA degree
Desired Experience:
  • 3+ years of experiences, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of security instructions, regulations, and procedures.
  • Applicants must demonstrate the ability or have endorsements that indicate the ability to learn and perform the cited position's duties.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information and the process for granting personnel security clearances/accesses, and knowledge of commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies in carrying out information, personnel related to the protection of SCI.
  • Specialist should have knowledge of the methods of performing such duties as conducting inspections and investigations, collecting and analyzing information, etc., and skill in weighing the impact of variables such as critical personnel qualifications, access and entry restrictions, equipment availability, and other issues that influence the course of actions taken in resolving security questions and issues.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
