Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to help keep guests and team members safe while maintaining a secure store environment. The role involves de-escalation, incident documentation, and collaboration with store leadership to prevent theft and ensure smooth operations.

The ideal candidate will be 18+, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Training and benefits are provided as part of employment with Target.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet state/local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.

Responsibilities

• Create a guest experience by greeting customers and assisting with finding what they need.
• Greet guests at various distances and initiate friendly interaction.
• Help guests resolve issues for a smooth shopping experience.
• Conclude transactions with a sincere thank you to guests.
• Support team members and maintain a positive attitude across areas.
• Promote a physical security culture and maintain safe standards throughout the store.
