Security Specialist (Active Interim Secret Clearance or above)

Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) is hiring a Security Specialist to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren, VA. The role involves on-site operational support for the Corporate Operations Department, Security Division, with expertise in Department of the Navy (DON) Antiterrorism Force Protection (AT/FP) and Emergency Management (EM) programs.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and support Department of the Navy (DoN) Physical Security (PHYSEC), including the Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AA&E) Program.
  • Conduct facility walkthroughs, inspections, surveys, and prepare reports.
  • Manage foreign national visits and review security plans.
  • Support annual physical security surveys and update Critical Asset Lists and MEVAs.
  • Utilize Lenel access control system and develop security work requests.
  • Handle secure lock combinations and coordinate lock issues.
  • Develop and implement classified space security procedures.
  • Assist with anti-terrorism measures, including administrative checks and reporting.
  • Support physical security pre-accreditation and develop SOPs for classified spaces.
  • Manage command key control program and track lock combinations.
  • Support Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection activities and review Individual Anti-Terrorism Plans.
Qualifications
  • At least three (3) years of experience in anti-terrorism force protection and emergency management.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Clearance at the Interim Secret level or higher.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of DOD/DON security policies, including OPNAVIST 5530.13C and OPNAVINST F3300.53C.
