Job summary

DK Security in Byron Center, MI is seeking an unarmed Security Officer to protect a multi-warehouse distribution center for a large Midwest retailer, handling access control, patrolling, and incident response.

You will work Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 4PM to 12AM; duties include verifying truck deliveries, monitoring CCTV, and coordinating with dispatch for emergencies, while maintaining a professional image on-site. CPR/First Aid/AED certification and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and have a High School diploma or GED.
• No felony convictions and able to pass a criminal background check.
• Must pass a drug test at hire and randomly thereafter.
• Present a friendly, professional image.
• Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record (limited violations).

Responsibilities

• Delivery Access Control – check in/out semi truck deliveries at the guard house.
• Patrolling interior and exterior areas and addressing security, safety, or maintenance issues.
• Mobile Patrol – drive security vehicle to patrol parking lots and site exteriors.
• Warehouse Access Control – verify employee health screenings and direct next steps.
• Follow dispatch procedures for emergencies and routine responses.
• Monitor CCTV and use security software to record events.

Job Skills / Requirements

As an unarmed Security Officer at DK Security, your duties may vary depending on the site you are working. This opening is at a multi-warehouse distribution center for a large Midwest retailer. Multiple officers are on duty at a time.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Include But Are Not Limited To

• Delivery Access Control - Check in/out Semi Truck deliveries at the Guard House using computer software.
• Patrolling - Walk the interior and exterior of the various buildings on site, keeping an eye out for security, safety, or maintenance issues.
• Mobile Patrol - Drive the security vehicle around the site, patrolling parking lots and building exteriors.
• Warehouse Access Control - Ensure the client's employees complete their COVID health screenings. Provide next step directions depending on results.
• Delivery Access Control - Check in/out Semi Truck deliveries at the Guard House using computer software.
• Dispatching - Follow procedures in dispatching personnel for emergency and non-emergency response.
• Monitoring - Accurately and quickly utilize computer-aided software and monitor CCTV system using recording devices.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• May NOT have any felony convictions and must be able to pass a criminal background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and randomly thereafter.
• Must present a friendly, positive, and professional image.
• Must be willing to become CPR/1st Aide/AED Certified
• Must have a valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
• Less than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years
• Less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years
• No other major violations in the last 3 years.
• Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the duration of the shift, including walking long distances, and possibly up and down stairs
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
