Job summary

FTS International, LLC is seeking a Security Specialist in Chantilly, VA to support and administer the NISPOM, ICD and related security programs for government assets.

This role requires TS/SCI, US citizenship, and 3–5 years in industrial/security fields; responsibilities include personnel security, physical security, information security and compliance with DoD standards.

The position offers $70,000–$90,000 per year plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

We provide Subject Matter Experts (SME) free of Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) focused on independent analysis and mission support services within the disciplines of Engineering, Counter Terrorism Operations, Management, Information Technology, Signals Analysis, Administration, Cyber Security and Linguistics.

FTS has an immediate opportunity for a Security Specialist in Chantilly, VA.

The Security Specialist is responsible for supporting and administering the NISPOM Rule (32 CFR Part 117), Intelligence Community Directives (ICD), and proprietary information programs for the protection of Noblis and Noblis FTS personnel and government assets.

Responsibilities

Personnel Security

• Conduct and coordinate employee indoctrinations and debriefings in accordance with NISPOM Rule requirements

• Process badge and system account requests; assist employees with obtaining government agency badges and access credentials

• Submit SCI nominations and security crossovers to various programs and manage clearance realignment actions

• Process incoming and outgoing classified visit authorization requests; maintain associated security files

• Maintain personnel security records in various systems, including entries, updates, and routine database maintenance

• Review candidate security paperwork packages, to include eAPP and SF86 forms, for clearance processing requirements

Physical Security

• Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs), accreditation letters, alarm certification documentation, and construction security plans; coordinate customer approvals for modifications

• Support the accreditation and management of Closed Areas and SCIFs across government agencies in accordance with ICD 705 standards

• Administer physical access control duties, including employee and visitor identification badge processing

• Manage the automated intrusion detection and access control system; coordinate with the Government Security Office for periodic inspections

• Respond to alarms outside of core business hours as required; the CSSO will be added to the alarm response team list (mandatory requirement)

• Maintain and implement physical security program that controls access to buildings and internal secure areas

Information Security

• Manage the safeguarding of classified information and materials, including receipt, logging, control, dissemination, transfer, and destruction

• Perform document control functions, including document reviews, removal, and destruction procedures.

• Create and maintain DD-254s to ensure accurate contract security classification specifications

Security Administration & Compliance

• Maintain security databases including DISS, NBIS, and TALON ensuring data integrity and currency

• Support and participate in self-inspections; assist with DCSA (Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency) and customer security inspections

• Provide security support and liaison to field locations to ensure compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and proprietary security requirements

• Serve as a point of contact with government security representatives and local, state, and federal law enforcement officials

• Support the development and maintenance of security plans, procedures, fixed facility checklist, TEMPEST addendums, and program instructions

• Implement an effective visitor control program for processing outgoing and incoming classified visit requests

Security Training & Education

• Develop and deliver an employee security education and awareness program, including initial and refresher training briefings, to ensure all personnel maintain required security awareness

• Create security training materials and conduct security education briefings in support of organizational requirements

Required Skills/Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience OR Master's degree and 3 years of experience OR Associate's degree and 8 years of experience OR High School diploma and 11 years of experience

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in industrial security, personnel security, or a closely related government security field

• Experience supporting FSO/CSSO functions or serving in an assistant FSO or CSSO role within a cleared contractor environment

• Demonstrated knowledge of the NISPOM Rule (32 CFR Part 117), industrial security letters, and other materials pertaining to the National Industrial Security Program (NISP)

• Proficiency with security management systems including DISS, NISS, EAPP, and TALON

• Knowledge of security policies and procedures with ability to interpret and apply requirements consistently across diverse situations

• Working knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security programs and requirements

• Excellent customer service skills; ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality with the highest level of integrity

Desired Skills/Qualifications

• TS/SCI with polygraph

• SPēD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) or Industrial Security Professional Certification (ISPC)

• Experience supporting SCI programs and working knowledge of ICD 705 SCIF construction and accreditation standards

• Familiarity with TEMPEST requirements and countermeasures

• Prior experience coordinating with the Government on facility accreditation and compliance activities

Expected Salary Range

Expected Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 per year. Placement within the range is determined by qualifications, job-related criteria, experience, internal equity and market considerations.
